Riding Mower Core Aerator

This is a 48″ core aerator. Don’t be fooled into buying one of the cheaper spike aerators. The spikes don’t do nearly as good of a job getting oxygen, water, and nutrients into your lawn.

It has a black powdercoated finish to resist corrosion. The weight tray is design to support up to 120 lbs. This added ballast (folks usually use concrete blocks or bags of sand) helps to increase the penetration of the cores into the turf. The spikes can penetrate up to 2.5″. This thing rolls easily on 10″ pneumatic tires.

The pin style hitch uses the standard geometry which means it should fit most lawn and garden tractors without any type of adapter.

_____Why do I need to aerate my lawn??
Aerating you lawn involves perforating the soil with holes that are usually around 1/2″ in diameter to allow air, water, and nutrients to penetrate down to the roots of the grass. This helps the grass grow stronger and deeper roots, which in turn produces a stronger, healthier lawn. Aeration (with a plug aerator, not a simple spike aerator) helps alleviate soil compaction.
